Question
Does Rapala make freshwater lures that dive to 25 feet?

Go to the Rapala website.
Or get the book " HOW TO FISH A RAPALA BY THE BOOK"- should be available at Bass Pro.

They mention the use of weights for this purpose to increase depth on their lures. Heavier weights must be placed at least 18" from lure.
They recommend the lightest tackle possible & the use of a Rapala Knot to maintain the proper fish-attracting action of the lure.
Hope this helps.

Yes, they do make a deep diving Tail dancer that dives 30+ feet. Also, you CAN carolina rig floating cranks and fish them any depth.

I'm not sure about 25 feet but they do make a 20 foot depth lure in the dives-to series. Now if you take that and either put a sinker in line in front of it or use some suspend strips and I'll bet you could not only get 25 but keep 25 almost to the boat. Good luck.

Not without the aid of Down riggers or lead core line. Or, Some sort of alteration. Even with super light line and trolling, I dont think you can get a lure that deep without the aid of something. It would be cool if they did though!

Question
Pike Fishing
I recently tried to catch some pike off the shore of a local lake. On their state website it says they had northern pike. I tried Daredevle "Five of Diamonds" spoons and crank baits with absolutely no luck. any advice or tips?

These will work on Pike. You must pay attention to the bait fish in your local area because each forage type behaves a little different. Then adjust your hook size and presentation to mimic your locations conditions. You will very satisfied when you start pulling them in the boat.

It's hard to answer your question regarding the daredevle. I have used the red and white stripe and never caught a thing on it. I always catch northern pike by chance. Live bait like worms, or minnows, Also on many plastic's like creaturs or worms. If I catch them on plastic worms it's always wacky style. Heck even buzz baits or a jitterbug I have been successful but like I said it is by chance. I can always tell a northern because when they hit it's now. The laugh that I get is many times I get them boated and I don't even have them hooked. There just to mean to let go.

Pike tend to be cruisers constantly on the prowl for baitfish. They may have not been in that particular area that day, or they may have just not been feeding.
The best days to fish for pike are cloudy days with a chop on the water. It helps camouflage the pike and the pike has the advantage over the baitfish. Try fishing the edges of weed beds on those days.

This happens to be one of my favorites!! Two words Top water. I've caught pike with skitterpops, Nip-i-diddies, Zara Spooks, Buzzbaits, and 7" thrillers. I've recently had good luck with Powerbait hollow bodies and Bass pros Shallow crank called the egg. I love catching toothy critters with top waters. Give it a try.

This is only my opinion. I have found that the best way to catch Northern Pike is with live bait.
* Use any fish about 5 inches long ( as long as it is legal to use for bait ).
* Put a single hook under the spine with the point coming out next to the dorsal fin
* presenting the bait fish in a horizontal position
* find a weed line or drop off
* put bait about 3 feet under a bobber
* cast the bait to the weedline or drop off ideally in about 8 feet of water.
* wait until the bober is moving away from you and submerged for 5 seconds and set the hook hard.
* I use a bobber just larger than a golf ball
* most likely to catch a Pike just before sunset. Once again, that is just what works for me.
*******************
For lures, I would go with a 3/8 oz. or 1/2 oz. spinner bait with large, tandem Colorado blades ( not willow blades ) - skirt color would be black. Again, I would fish just before sunset. I would fish the spinnerbait on a slow retrieve along the weedlines. I have used this lure in black, white, yellow during the day and had some luck. Black lure just before sunset seems to work the best for me.

Depends on the structure and cover really. Take two rods. Rig one with a spinnerbait so you can cover a lot of water quickly as you walk along the shore. If you get a strike, grab the other rod, rigged with a Senko, and work the area thoroughly. When the bite turns off move down shore.

I personally have tried many things and have found the berkley 10" powerworm to be the best all around. Texas rig it with a 1/16oz weight and peg the weight with a bullet t stop and use a 4/0 hook. The motor oil red flake is excellent color as is watermelon candy. It might seem like a big worm but I have caugt 10" bass and 22" bass on them. I will cast out give it a few seconds to fall and usally get a bite on the decent and if not work it real slow across the bottom just reel in slow and twitch it a little bit. Hope this helps.

Wacky worm for sure. I go to my local pond and hook up a 4" bass pro sticko in the hot pink colour and catch 15+ bass in just over an hour. Give this a try and you will have good results.
