answer 1
Way to big. Use 3/0, 4/0, or 5/0. Typically the hook should be in the top 1/4 to 1/3 of the length of the worm.

WHOA! You better scale that hook back down to a 4/0 or 5/0 Gamakatsu and you will be ready to hit the water.
Good luck & tight lines!

too big! i suppose you could use a hook of that mammoth size if thats what you had but i however would go for somthing a lil bit smaller, i dont hardly ever go over 4/0 because of the fact that whether tournament fishing or otherwise you may miss more bites because of a hook size being too large, i understand bass have large mouths lol but still ive found the larger the hook the more missed strikes soo i go for 3/0-4/0 because it is small enough for smaller bass to easily bite and most definetly easy for larger bass to bite remeber the saying: you can catch a big fish on a small hook but you cant catch a small fish on a big hook! just my opinion but fishing is all about fun and at the end of the day the more fish youve landed the better your day was soo next time try some 3/0-4/0 worm hooks preferably basspro's theyre the best for the money

answer 8
I would say that both hooks are WAY TOO BIG for that bait! I live in Florida and use a Bass Assasin (June Bug/Blue Tail) worm probably 70% of the time I am fishing a worm. On the 6" model I like a 3/0 if the cover is really thick. If it is sparse I may go to a 4/0. I use a straight shank Gamagatsu straight shank hook because of the way it comes through the cover. Remember there are no rules so don't let me or anyone else tell you something can't work! You never know the next goofy thing you do may just be the next fishing craze....

I think I would have to say No, those are a little too big. I rely on the Bass Assassin a LOT, and have caught a lot of large bass on it. I have found that a 5/0 offset hook (look up Bass Pro part #38-424-540-25 for black, 38-424-542-25 for red, or 38-446-153-25 black if you prefer Owner brand). Typically offset worm hooks works best, I prefer when the point is in-line with the offset that helps to keep the bait straight, and prevent snags when fishing lilly pads. The red hook adds the bloody injured bait fish look, and increases reaction strikes. You nose hook it through the center go down about half inch and come out the bottom, pull the bait up to the offset. Put the bend of the hook up to the bait to see where it will go through the bait so it sits straight, now go through that point with the hook from the bottom up. Try to go all the way through at 90 degrees to the body keeping it centered as well. The tip should come through just before the end of the slit on the Assassin. This will keep the point of the hook inside the flaps of the bait to keep it weedless yet make hook sets easier. The 5/0 is the best length I have found, it keeps the main body straight so you get a nice jerk bait action to it, but still allows the tail to flip around. Make sure your hook goes through exact center at the head, and body. If the bait pulls or rolls then it is hooked wrong. Sometimes I re-rig three to four times to get the bait perfect, but when it is it's deadly.

Yes, it can work but the bulk size of the hook can potentially kill some action. I suggest a 5/0 extra wide gap for the best type of action.
