This unit includes everything that you will need to install it on the transom. To mount the included transducer to your trolling motor you will need to purchase the Humminbird® Trolling Motor Adapter - Model AD XTM 9, item 1446953. I have included a link to the adapter below.

On the PMAX175, as the screen scrolls from right to left, the information on the right is directly underneath you. As it scrolls further to the left, this becomes your history.

Question

How does this transducer function and mount when fishing from a sit-in kayak?

From the description: Standard transducer XNT-9-28-T mounts inside hull or transom. How does this work while fishing from a kayak? I plan to use a Scotty Sounder Mount for the fish finder. Where does the transducer go on a kayak? thanks, mike

The standard transducer can be glued to the floor of Kayak with a two part slow cure epoxy it. We also sell a Kayak mounting kit, the MHX XMK which is a cradle with marine grease that allows mounting to the floor. The sonar beam shoots thru the bottom.

Question

Mounting options

I am looking for a finder that can be moved between boats. Does this need to be hard mounted, or can you sucking cup mount it and move it?

If hard mount only, any suggestions on a decent portable finder?

The unit comes with all permanent mount accessories. You can purchase spare accessories to set up on a 2nd boat and just move the head unit from boat to boat. The transdcer can be mounted with a suction cup. However, the max speed that you're able to use the transducer with the suction cup without loss is 5mph.
