Can you take the weights off without ruining the hook?

Yes, but it is difficult. However that is good because other pinch weights slide around on the hook a lot. These when properly applied have a tendency to stay put and other pinch weights don't. I would like to have a 3/4 oz. and a 1oz. to penetrate hydrilla which occurs periodically in the lake I fish and also during the summer when the bass go deep.
