The Camp Chef Camp Oven is extremely well insulated allowing you to bake more with less fuel. This insulation also makes the oven more difficult to cool down once a high temperature has been reached. For best results its best to use the included thermometer as a guide, the temperature control knob is only marked with a high and low indication, so a little trial and error will be needed to find the exact temperature you desire. If you find the oven getting too hot, open the oven door a bit to allow some hot air to escape. Like all ovens, the Camp Chef Camp Oven has different heat zones depending on rack height and location within the oven. A little trial and error will also be need to help find the optimal baking location in your oven and to know where heat zones exist
