I'd say a 9. IT is a great gun for the price, I haven't seen much better. My remington I will always be partial to though.

Look no further - Remington Versa-Max Waterfowl shotgun. If you don't have the money right now - save up for it - it's worth every penny.

When I was 13, I got a new shotgun as well. Depending on what kind of build you are, I might recommend the pump just because I am partial to them and they are better for someone who doesn't like as much recoil as from the recoil from the gas ejecting the shell in a semi auto.

I've put some pretty cheap shells through this gun when messing around. You definitely need to put the light piston on to do so or they won't eject. But, I've found that it is better to shoot shells that are 1300 fps or faster. As the gun breaks in, it will have an easier time cycling cheaper/lighter/slower shells too.

I have tried Federal gun club and Winchester the cheapest and there was no problem, also tried my own reloads and worked perfect. it's a real work-horse, have changed the trigger because of the recall but there was no problems on the change and the new trigger was back in 1 week

Yes. I own one myself, and have owned it several years and have hunted with it through all weather. It stays in good shape as long as you take care of it by cleaning it after you use it. For me hunting wouldn't be the same without it.

If you're looking to put some glass on top, no it doesn't come drilled and tapped. A gun smith could do that for you, but I don't think it's worth the money. I have a fiberoptic sight on the end of mine that lights up the target.
