You need a #2 or a #3. But if you want to be serious about it get Bridger #2,#3or MB 550.

At least #2 that is double staked. If you are targeting just coyotes. I buy the #3. The only reason I say that is because a #2 can be used on fox and coyote but occasionally a smart Yote will slip the laws.

For coyotes #1.75-#3 is recommended. Best for inexperienced would be the #3

I use Duke #2's and MB 550RC's you can go down to 1-3/4's and still be good. Just make sure your anchors are good coyotes will fight really hard.

No because its hoof can pull right out just like a deer

No. This is not made for species with hooves, but rather for species with paws.

No. This is a foot hold trap designed to grab a paw not a hoof. You would use this on coyote, fox, bobcat, or even coons.
