Full metal body, sideplate and rotorWater-tight design Sealed HT-100 Slammer® Drag SystemOversized bail wireStainless steel main shaftLine capacity ringsSuperline spoolOne of the most recognized and accomplished saltwater spinning reels in the world, the Penn Spinfisher is a real workhorse. The Penn Spinfisher V builds on that legacy with a full metal body, sideplate and rotor plus a water-tight design that keeps saltwater out. Anglers will approve of this reel’s sealed HT-100 Slammer Drag System. For rugged durability, the Spinfisher V’s main shaft is stainless steel, as is its oversized bail wire. Line capacity rings on the Spinfisher V are a first for spinning reels. This reel is suited to inshore, nearshore, offshore and surf angling, or, in short, everything saltwater!

Questions & Answers for Penn Penn® Spinfisher® V Spinning Reels

Question

Swap Spools??

it appears that the 3500 and 4500 reel bodies/rotors are the same size. Can you swap out a 3500 spool onto a 4500 reel or vice versa?

i asked same thing and never found an answer. i can tell u that from what i could tell holding each that it's not just a swapped spool. the reel itself is bigger. 3500 might still accept the 4500 spool, but the bodies didn't appear to be same sizes. i'd say go into the store and actually try swapping them.

Question

Best size for a St Croiz Mojo 10.5ft MSS106MHMF2

Trying to decide between the 5500, 6500, or 7500 reel. Mostly fishing for sharks and bass from the surf. Looking for the best balance for the rod.

I have the 6500 and I think the 5500 or 6500 will make you happy. The 6500 might be too big and heavy though.
