The 'X' in the model number denotes a unit that is sonar/downscan only and does not have the GPS Chartplotter. This unit does not have an internal antenna. Instead (according to Lowrance), it has the option for an external GPS Antenna for basic digital GPS data overlay, marking waypoints and waypoint sharing with networked Lowrance chartplotters.

I went to a store and asked the folks at the kiosk the same question. After looking at the online site and looking at the Lowrance website they were no closer to an answer. The Lowrance site was not even able to find the model. After an hour I was told the difference is the X in the model. The X meant "Chart Plotter" but no one could tell me what the chart plotter is. One guy even said it was GPS. I promptly replied the model without the X had GPS as the last feature in the description. He told me the BPS website was wrong. Really???

The information I am able to locate is the X135 power cable is part number 99-98 PC26BL, which is not the same. The power cable for the Elite 7 series is 127-49 PC-30 RS422 (item 1633081). Thanks

Question

connecting to elite 7 hdi (with GPS)

If I wanted to run one of these off the front of the boat, would I be able to see the GPS features on this unit being fed via the 7 HDI at my console? I know this unit is only missing the gps, so i would hope I could use the single gps system from the console and have this unit up at the trolling motor but with the gps? Thanks? So both units see the same gps map for marking waypoints and structures wishing to double back too?
