I have the GL3 7 foot medium heavy, Mag bass rod. I have paired it with a curado reel. I fish plastic worms and light jig and plastics on them. You can only beat this rod with an upgraded IMX or GLX version. A GLoomis rod will make you a better fisherman the second you put it in your hands. I use a Fenwick 6 M action for crankbaits and spinnerbaits.

A GL3 would be fine, but you will want to take a look at the G. Loomis Walleye Series Rods. Search for item number 38-122-120-00 .
