Do they stay up?
My husband's criteria for socks is that they stay up. No slouching for him! Do these socks stay put?

I've worn these for several years & they never slouch. If you buy a size that's too big they might move in the foot if you don't have shoes on, but the leg part never slides down, ever,

Mine stay up better than others, plus they don't give you rubber band marks on your calves. I am pretty active on my feet and as a firefighter and they're great.

Yes.I own several pairs and use them when I Elk hunt and Goose hunt.They wont let you down literally........They dont slide down they stay up.A truly great ,thick,warm winter sock.

They are thick but not too bad. I have worn them in warmer weather and they wick the moisture away from your feet. I was skeptical about paying $10 for one pair of socks at first. I bought 2 pairs in 10/09 and they are still in great shape.

They keep your warm and dry. I like them as they don't roll down you ankles. If you wear them out, take them back and receive a new pair.

How SOFT are these socks?
I know a lot of wool blend socks are a bit scratchy or at the least, very much different from the feel of cotton blends. Are these soft to the touch at all?

These socks are are extremely soft! I have several Under Armor athletic socks and the inside of these socks are very similar in feel. It's not the "itchy" feeling that you would expect from wool.

These socks are soft and "cushiony". Merino wool is not itchy or scratchy. These are the best deal around in wool socks, I have been wearing them for years.

I am allergic to Wool and have had absolutely no problems with these whatsoever! I have had them for over two years, just got my first replacement pair with their lifetime guarantee, with now hassles at all.
They are soft, like a Cotton Sweater on the outside and super soft inside and cushy!
Both my Husband and I have a pair.
We would both highly recommend them!

I wear a 10 shoe and bought 5 pair in Large I have no regrets but they do shrink some and I may consider buying an XL next time just due to the minor shrinking they did. But like I say, Large is no problem.

I have about 10 pairs of these. Excellent sock, winter or summer. Or, work great for "houseshoes" around the house. I am a size 10-11 and have found to like the S or M. These socks are so thick, they tend to pull to the back of the foot and the heel comes up out of the back of the shoe if too large. They are so "generous" that a small will fit securely with no issue.

None, zero, zip. They might feel snugger right after the wash but they fit perfectly once they are on. No shrinking.

I wash them in warm water with the rest of the clothes and hang them to dry inside out and they don't shrink.

Mine are new but have been washed 5 times with no shrinkage. They are NOT to be used in hot drier. I air dry mine and it does take about a full day in the house so I used 2 pair and alternate.

not much at all. i put them in the washer and let them sit out to dry. i would not reccomend putting them in the dryer. haven't had a problem as of yet.

yes but there are very warm in temp above 35 or so and I use a wicking sock under them. In really cold weather, I just wear the sock and 2 pair at a time at that !!!

They do advertise them as a Lifetime Guarantee. I've had mine for three years now with no sign of wear or tear. I own several pair made by another company that were quite a bit more and they wore out in the heels as well. But that company won't replace their socks.

are these a sock U would where during july weather in Midwest?
Im looking for socks to where in the 3 warmer seasons that have extra extra padding in the heel area and bottom of foot along with toe. I ware slipon work boot and socks ware out in the high heel area quickly and so lifetime is very attractive to me. Jim

Being from the midwest, I wouldn't consider these socks well suited for July. These are heavier style, probably better suited to cooler weather. That said, I wore them with temps in the 60s and it wasn't too bad. But July typically means 90s around here. I'd pass.

We live in Texas and my husband wears them year round for work. They will replace them if they wear out anywhere on the sock (my husband was tearing his up at the top). We originally bought 7 pair and have replaced all of them only 1 time. That was after 3+ years of use. We have bought 7 more for him = 14 pair.

The RedHead Lifetime Guarantee Hunting socks are what you want -- my son wears them year-round - even in July/August in Central IL -- it was 110F in Aug. this last summer (2010) and he swears by them - feet don't get hot -- and come winter, they don't get cold.

It was in the low 80's and I hunted all day, walking up and down hills in the Mojave desert recently and these socks were cool and comfortable. I was wearing G I type lace-up desert boots with fiberglass toes and leg gaters.
