Gerber® Fixed Blade Gator® Knives

The fixed blade Gator's patented handle molds and chemically bonds Santoprene® rubber around an inner core of glass-filled polypropylene. This makes a handle that is lightweight, easy to grip and nearly indestructible. Features a high-carbon stainless steel blade - drop point or gut hook. Choose from a straight edge or semi-serrated edge on the drop point model and a straight edge on the gut hook model. Includes a ballistic cloth sheath with hard plastic insert for safety. Blade length: 3-3/4". Overall length: 8".

Hard plastic with a clip to slip on or over your belt - very nice and knife "snaps" in.

What kind of steel is the blade?

Can you tell me the name of the steel, i.e 420 , 440 ... etc. I like to know what kind of steel is used in this knife.

All Buck knives are stainless steel in a Rockwell Hardness Scale range of 58-61 according to the Buck website.
