cod fishing
can this rod hold up to inshore cod fishing ? range of the trip is 20-40 miles offshore. also need reel ideas and suggestions on how heavy i should go with braid and do you suggest a leader . thank you

The rod can certainly hold up to cod fishing. Look at the Daiwa Satist 30H, especially if you plan to jig with it. 50# line is pretty standard for mono. cod are not line shy, I use 80# braid because I also use my setup for schoolie tune. I know plenty of people who use breaid right down to a jig - but I use a 25' 60# wind on leader on my rig.
