Questions & Answers for Bass Pro Shops® Micro Lite™ Graphite Float 'n' Fly Rods

Question
Will the rod guides stand up to braided line?
Just received the rod, and it is gorgeous. I'd like to use braided line, but I understand that it eats into the guides on some rods. Will this one resist scoring from braided line?

I have been using my rod for the past two winters catching small mouth. I have not had any trouble with the braided line at all, the rod guides have not shown a bit of wear as of yet. I landed this one on my micro light with a 15' leader, what a blast.

Question
What does Float n Fly mean?
What kind of reel is good to use for this rod? I like to fly fish and the word fly caught my eye. Is this a specific float n fly rod for some type of short fly line attached to conventional line? I am confused. Please help me understand if this is a fly rod suitable for fly reel and fly line.
Thanks,
Sam

This is rod is made for spinning reels, the word fly in float-n-fly refers to the hair jig used. The method of rigging is very simple, using fireline from the reel attach a three way swivel, one leg of the swivel attach a one inch weighted float, and to the other leg attach the desired length of flourocarbon leader and then attach your jig (fly) to the other end of the leader. I hope this is helpful.
