Does it cast ? Like from shore??

It is not set up for casting. Use if for trolling or mooching heavy bottom fish.

I wouldn't recommend it, not unless you have been lifting weights for awhile and built up body mass. All kidding aside thes rods were made to be trolled or if you balloon float live bait from a dock or bridge.
