It means that model comes preloaded with Navonic Maps. This is important for the smaller units 797 & 798 because there is only one SD card slot. You can add the Navonics card later, but at the cost of not being able to save screen shots or recording your scans. You can still save waypoints, but they don't mean a whole lot if you don't have a map to refrence them to.

Navionics Value Bundle that is installed on your unit from the factory.
It is a good upgrade but make sure it is a current map. You could be buying a unit that has the 2007 map data on it which would be fine for most people but Navionics is adding lakes every year. Go to Navionics web site to see if your local lake it on the software.

Question
Whats up with this unit?
Bought this little more than a month ago. First couple times out, side imaging didn't work. The transducer is almost on the bottom of the boat and is still out of the water. Fished natural lake with lots of walleye stacked up and sonar didn't work. What's up with the installation. Transducer has to be 15 inches from motor, but still comes out of water. I think it's worth 500 bucks, any answers are appreciated.

If the transducer is still out of the water than you need to look at remounting it elsewhere on the boat. The 15-inch rule is so that you do not mount the transducer too close behind the propeller (for inboard motors) as the turbulent water will prevent the sonar from working and also so that you do not mount it so close to the external I/O or outboard propellers that it causes an air cavitation bubble to form at higher boat speeds which cause water flow problems with the propeller and possibly the cooling water intake. I suggest that you search the internet as there are several web sites that have pictures of how others have successfully mounted their Side Imaging transducers on their boats.
