I had the best luck and more hook sets with a 1/0 Wide Gap offset worm hook. Bring the point all the way up through the body and skin it in for weedless. I tried a non-wide gap worm hook, but missed a lot of strilkes.

I'd fish a 3/0 wide gap offset style by any manufacturer for fish that size if you are going to Texas rig, though the best way I have found to catch fish that size is to take a bare jig about 1/8 to 1/4 oz and run it straight through the body leaving the end of the hook cleanly exposed.
