Best hook size?

I'm Texas rigging with bass pro wide superlock hook for river smallies around 10"-12"

I'd fish a 3/0 wide gap offset style by any manufacturer for fish that size if you are going to Texas rig, though the best way I have found to catch fish that size is to take a bare jig about 1/8 to 1/4 oz and run it straight through the body leaving the end of the hook cleanly exposed.
