The first time I used the socks, I stepped into water up to my ankles, and the socks leaked. My feet were instantly cold and soaking wet.

I've been using these socks for nearly a decade. The one time they have delaminated for me, is when i wasn't carefull while removing or didn't roll them open to put them on. I was in a hurry in both cases, with the same pair of socks. They can't be 'pulled' on or off, they will tear apart. As far as i'm concerned, it's worth the tiny amount of effort i takes to be kind to them and not just rip them off like a bandaid...lol. If they get punctured by cactus, or thorns or other poky things, they will leak, but they are compression socks, so it's a small seep really. Simply put though, if they aren't taken care of properly (ie abused unreasonably...) they will fail, just like anything else. I'm still amazed how much abuse they do take though. I use them for deer, elk, pheasant and early waterfowl hunting and can get three years out of them with out ever washing them.

If you have read that these socks are not any good, then you need to stop reading. They are the best outdoor socks that I have ever worn.
