the fly reel has two holes for the line to go through. one on each side of the arbor. you just take the line off the reel, turn the reel around and reel the line back up so it is the way you want it. simple as that.

This would depend on what types of water you are going to be fishing and what kind of fish you are targeting. A 9 foot 5/6 WT rod would be a good for targeting trout and small mouth bass.

It depends on what type of fish you are after. But the big the rod the easier the cast but more weight is add so with a bigger rod. It will tire you out more.

Question
what weight rod should i get?
i would be using it for large mouth up to around 2 1/2 pounds and hopefully some small trout. I don't want overkill for the trout but I want to be able to handle a big fish

I bought a 9ft, 5wt. The line it is rigged with is fine. If fishing late summer you may want a 6 or 7x leader rather than the 3x but everything on this seems matched well and casts very nice.
