can you add a reel on it?

would i be able to but a "crappie bait cast reel" on it?

Yes I put a mister crappie solo reel on mine their is no reel seat on it so you will need to glue it to the pole and then wrap it with contractor string and the coat the string with clear urethane I also added line guides

No. You would need another style of jigging rod if you are looking to add a baitcaster.

yes but you are limited to the size fish I would not trust it with a fish over 3 pounds

I wouldn't advise it, especially if you were to hook a fish of any large size. It be hard to pier fish with,(public pier) because of the line required to reach the water and depth.

Nylon, or Dacron are my preferred lines. If your not worried about spooking fish, use the Dacron. You might also think about a Tenkara braided line with a leader on the end of for fly fishing.
