No felt bottoms on the pair I bought. The heel is a bit narrow. PRO- digs in well down a slippery mud embankment and doesn't hold mud like a felt bottom (invasive species, weightiness, etc...) CON- the smaller surface area of the heel gives less ankle support stability on rounded streambed rocks then a wide felt bottom but they tie up OK so...

Some companies still make them, but beware of where you wear them. Some locations/states have or will be no longer allowing them within their waters. Best to check first.
