I have a 12' Talon. We are fishing in Lake Kissimmee Florida in about 4 to 5 feet of water. It holds great. We anchored in 8' just to see what it would do and it held great.

The Talon has great holding power. I use mine on the Calcasieu and Sabine Rivers in southwest Louisiana. These rivers are affected by tides. When I put my Talon down it holds me firmly in place in heavy current.

answer 3
Doubt it will hold, way too many rocks on the bottom and it will not penetrate enough to hold you in the current, it will just drag down the river

IF THE WATER DEPTH DOES NOT EXCEED THE DEPLOY DEPTH OF THE TALON, YOUR BOAT WILL NOT MOVE

From my experience with the talon, it did not stop my boat. The spike just drags on the bottom and you cannot drive it in any further.

It is about 7' high on my Nitro Z8. They make a tilt bracket if you need to get under a short garage door. My dors are 10' and not a problem

Talon makes a tilt bracket that lets you fold your Talon down inside your boat. Its a must have.

answer 3
The Talon will stick up about 2 foot above your out board motor. The overall hight will depend on how high your trailer runners have the boat bottom off the floor. On 8'4" models installed 4" up from bottom of hull they should be 5'4" from bottom of hull.

First, you can buy a mounting plate that allows it to be tilted 30 degrees for going into and out of the garage. If that's not enough you can raise and lower it quite a bit with no tools. If that's not enough you can take it completely off easily with no tools.

Yes you will. I purchased mine online from BassPro. If you have a jack plate the bracket will attach to to several types. It mounted directly to my slidemaster. Others will need to mount between the transom and motor. Mine cost about #250. You won't believe how strong it is.

If you have a jack plate it would be good to get the universal mounting bracket. Bass Pro Shops carries it. It is anywhere from $229-$269. The Universal jack plate bracket is easy to install and can be made to do about anything you want to do with it. It can be used on either port or starboard sides. If you don't have a jack plate you would need a sandwich bracket that goes between the motor and transom. It would be a much harder install with resealing bolts etc.
