Both parts are plastic, but handle is knurled and does not slip

orange part is plastic and non-slip grip is definite. Depending on what gloves you use and material you are cutting, always helps to be cautious.

The orange part is plastic.yes it has a rubber non slip grip.

it does not come with any but I suppose you could replace one if needed but for the price I would just buy a complete new one
