According to the legendary Lefty Kreh, these 2-piece medium fast action rods are great for beginners through all skill levels. Rods boast smooth, progressive tapers that load fast but with the reserve power needed for distance, line speed and loop control. TFO Signature II Series Fly Rods feature a lustrous dark green finish, AA grade cork, oversized stripping guides and matte black aluminum reel seats with double uplocking rings designed by Lefty Kreh. Rods 6 weight and lighter feature hook keepers and half-wells grips, while 7, 8 and 9 weights have comfortable fighting butts and full wells grips. A rod sock is included. Do you spool it with the equivalently weighted line? and what weight of tippet?

Yes you use the equivalent weighted line. For the tippet, for most conditions you would choose the medium size.
