This is a far superior replacement. going to the strap eliminates the tug and pull from the cable wedging between wraps.

Probably. Your winch has to be at least 2" wide to accept the strap. Also these have a loop in the end that has a bolt to hold it to the winch, so make sure your winch body has a bolt for the existing cable.

The only reason you would need to 20 ft is if you plan on having boat completely off trailer and cranking it on. Which will be hard on everything. I only use about 3 ft on my 19 ft boat

We suggest the 20' strap in case you ever need to winch the boat on the trailer entirely (due to engine failure etc). Thank you.
