I just rec'd my boots, I had read that they fit a bit big, but to order your size because you might want to wear heavier socks in them. I ordered my usual size and am very happy I did. I can comfortably wear wool socks in the boot.

I have found that they generally run a little on the large size. If you are wearing thick socks they are perfect.

I wear them squirrel hunting if that helps- walking through fall leaves in the woods and so far very quiet- I haven't been "skunked" yet.

no,they are fairly quiet. they have straps on the sides of the boot so you can tighten them so they wont hit your leg. but even if they do hit your leg they hardly make any noise

How do you know the sizing?
I notice that the size 8 in ladies says 8 ladies/6 youth. I don't understand if you wear a size 8 in ladies that it would be the same size in a size 6 youth.

Not if you're talking about a five foot plus rattle snake., The rubber of this boot is thinner than a leather snake proof boot.
